Corrective Osteotomy in a Dog to Address Increased Distal Femoral Procurvatum Ascribed to a Distal Femoral Salter-Harris Type V Injury

چکیده
Abstract Increased distal femoral procurvatum has been reported sporadically in dogs following malunion of Salter-Harris type I, II, and III fractures femur. The resultant increased can be poorly tolerated because subsequent loss stifle extension. This case report represents a dog with the femur ascribed to previous V injury. Surgical planning successful outcome corrective procedures have documented. A 6.5-month-old fox-terrier presented persistent weight bearing left pelvic limb lameness, 2 months after being hit by car. predominant orthopaedic finding was 20-degree decrease Radiographic computerized tomography evaluation revealed premature eccentric closure physis 30 degrees. tibial plateau angle 11.5 degrees compared right. deformity characterized, procedure planned using Paley's centre rotation angulation methodology. cranial closing wedge ostectomy performed stabilized locking plate. Proximal epiphysiodesis also reduce slope. Union osteotomy site reduction 5.4 were documented 50 days surgery good functional outcome.

Single Cut Distal Femoral Varus Osteotomy (SCFO): A Preliminary Study
Background: Genu valgum usually originates from a deformity of distal femur that is often corrected by distal femoralvarus osteotomy. The osteotomy includes both components of angulationcorrection and translation because the siteof osteotomy is not commonly at the apex of deformity. Improvement of patellar tracking not only depends on valguscorrection, but also it may be partially due to centra...

Osteotomy procedures around the knee can alter the biomechanical axis of the knee, thereby shifting the load from one compartment to another. This can be used to unload an arthritic painful compartment or to decrease the weight experienced by a cartilage restoration procedure. Recent clinical and biomechanical studies have emphasized the importance of correcting the weight bearing axis in a car...
متن کاملDistal Femoral Osteotomy
Background Distal femoral osteotomies (DFO) can be used to correct deformities around the knee. Although osteotomies can be fixed with either internal or external fixation techniques, the advantages of one over the other are unclear. Questions/purposes We asked whether (1) for both techniques, we could accurately correct the deformities based on our preoperative goals for mechanical axis deviat...
متن کاملThe Results of Biplanar Distal Femoral Osteotomy; A Case Series Study
Background: Distal femur wedge osteotomies for varus or valgus alignment of the lower extremity could be done in either uniplanar or biplanar fashion.Union time and stability of the osteotomy site has been considered important in this anatomic region. In this study, clinical and radiographic findings of biplane distal femur osteotomy were reported. Methods: Clinical, functional, and radiologic...
متن کاملSalter-Harris Type III and Type IV Combined Fracture of the Distal Femoral Epiphysis: A Case Report
Distal femoral physeal fractures are not common but have a high rate of complications. They generally follow one of the patterns described in the Salter-Harris classification. We present a case of combination of Salter-Harris type III and type IV injury. Our case was a 15-year-old boy who had a motor vehicle accident. There was swelling, ecchymosis, severe pain, and valgus deformity, because of...
